Reforestation – Planting Trees Program (project)

REFORESTATION & PLANTING TREES

More than 50% of our world’s tropical forests have been lost due to deforestation for logging, mining and agriculture. Also, 50% of world’s biodiversity is found in rainforests, therefore it is vital to protect the world’s most threatened species by protecting the ecosystems they depend on. Help plant trees and also support poverty alleviation in ten nations worldwide (including Philippines, Brazil, Central America, Mozambique, Haiti, Madagascar, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal) by empowering locals to earn a living by getting involved in and working on reforestation programs. 

BENEFITS – Provides a habitat for animals, purify water sources, restore ocean health, control flooding and erosion, and help to replenish the soil with the nutrients needed for farming.

ROTARY  IN ACTION – Get involved by raising funds and partnering with other clubs in your district. London District is currently working with partner “Climate Action Now” and powered by the Eden Project, and inviting London clubs to get involved to help collectively.
